Vocalab is a collaboration group which covers vocaloid, anime, jpop, jrock, and idolmaster songs. We are not a typical chorus group and will not have things like vocaloids or animations in our videos. Instead, our members will be featured in our videos. We are composed of both singers and instrumentalists, and each songs instrumental will be done by our instrumentalists. We will cover songs in Japanese and in English - and our English covers lyrics will be by us. We will have our main members, but we will also feature singers and instrumentalists in our videos.
Our members do not have to participate in each video, but can pick and choose which songs they want to be a part of. However, we will also have some all-cast videos. The number of people accepted is not yet decided, as for the deadline, it is currently set to March 5. Deadline may or may not be extended, depending on if enough auditions are sent in.
The songs done in Vocalab will always be voted on, and we will try and alternate our genres and types of songs covered. Vocalab will also try and cover the songs which aren't covered as much as most, if at all (covering the same thing over and over and hearing it time and time again isn't that much fun.)
Occasionally, for those members that wish to play around a bit more and get creative, we may do themed videos - costumes etc, but this is not required! This is just something that might be fun to do. However, things like holidays will have special themed videos for those who wish to participate.
Rules:
» No auto-tune or melodyne, just no pitch editing at all.
» No collabs, chorus, or duet videos accepted - it must be you and only you.
» Video must be a full video, partial videos will not be accepted.
» Video cannot have heavy effects, your natural voice must be able to be heard.
(If you wish to send in something acapella you can.)
» Video can be any of the genres listed above, but must be in Japanese.
» If you wish to ever take part in the English covers, you must send an English audition as well.
» You can only send two videos maximum.
» You do not have to be on camera for the audition, just prepared to be at some point in time if you make it in.
» AUDITIONS MUST BE A VIDEO RESPONSE.
The only exception is mixers, video editors, and translyricists.
» You must respect all the auditioners.
» If you fail to follow these directions, your audition will not be accepted, and you will not be notified.
Side notes:
Vocalab is also looking for several co-leads/organizers. These people must be productive, self-starting, self-motivated people, who can manage efficiently. They must be able to continue to do their job without the lead telling them to do so, they must be active in the group. Pm for more details, I will be picky, perhaps I may not accept anyone for these roles.
We are aiming to make high quality videos, so I will take into account camera quality, and microphone quality - as well as type of software used.
Video notes:
» Song used in video: Magenta, by Nano.
» Pictures used in video: Found on zerochan, none which belong to me.
» Software used: Final Cut Pro X.
» Vocalab has no affiliation with the groups/examples above.
