My brother, Pvt. Eric Adams, was not able to come home for his fiancée, Paige's, eighteenth birthday this year because of his recent move to his first duty station. He sent her flowers and told her that he ordered her a gift and it was back ordered but was expected to arrive sometime around Memorial Day Weekend. My younger sister happened to have her junior prom that weekend so we told Paige that she could spend the weekend with our family and help run errands on Friday for my sister's prom. While we were having lunch my mother and grandmother were picking up my brother at the airport. My brother texted me on his way to our house and told us to be ready to surprise Paige. We had her turn around and and close her eyes and my mother pretended to carry in a heavy gift. I told her I was recording her opening her gift because my brother didn't want to miss he reaction. When we told her to turn around there was her fiance. It was a great reunion and a great four day weekend home for my brother and our family.

Sep 17, 2010 - @sweetheart2109 Thank you! He always says "well I haven't done anything important yet" when people thank him but I always tell him that even enlisting in the military has made a difference for our country!

Sep 18, 2010 - @SleepyBlueClock Our parents were married at 19 and 21 so it's not a big deal plus many people in the military marry young.
