Documentation of live 'performance' at leeds college of art. This work stands as a self-reflective experience, a time to step back and consider the experience of life. As a culture, we have been expected to absorb and understand the information given to us; we have been blasted with ideas, perspectives and imagery. This piece allows an insight into the power relationships between audience and performer; who here is truly in control? I am attempting to define what role the artist plays within an over saturated media culture. The passive nature of my actions in the performance is key to understanding its context but the subtle indication of defiance throughout is the most interesting element. This piece directly involves the audience, considering them as participants and subjects. It is particularly interesting to see how these people react to the opportunity.
