Thalía performing "Brindis", the ninth track from her live album, "Primera Fila".
Background Information:
"Primera Fila (English: [In] Front Row)" is Thalía's first live album. It was recorded in Miami, Florida at the BankUnited Center on July 29 and 30, 2009 and was released on December 1, 2009 in the United States and Latin America, while in Spain, Greece and some other parts of the world it was released in 2010. "Primera Fila" can be found as a standard cd, dvd, cd+dvd combined, a Wal-Mart edition cd and a blu-ray disc. A year after its release, the album was reissued in a deluxe edition called, "Thalía En Primera Fila... Un Año Después".
Charts Positions and Sales:
On December 9, 2009, Latin Nielsen Soundscan confirmed that the album debuted at #1 in Latin Pop and in Top Latin Albums chart in the US as well as #169 at the Billboard Top 200 albums chart selling 7,300+ copies. A day after, Billboard.biz reported that it was a mistake made by them because they were supposed to divide the two editions released of the album, one which is the standard cd selling 6,000 copies and the Double-disc cd+dvd selling over 1,000 copies, slamming it from #1 making it #2 at the Latin Pop Albums, #4 at the Top Latin Albums chart and #198 at the Billboard Top 200 instead. However, if sales of both formats are combined, "Primera Fila" was indeed the highest selling Latin album of the week. On the 2010 year-end chart on Billboard, the standard cd was the 7th best-selling latin pop album, while it was the 17th best-selling album on the Top Latin Albums chart. So far, "Primera Fila" has sold more than 100,000 copies in the United States combined its all formats (standard cd, cd+dvd, dvd etc).
In Mexico, the album spent 9 non-consecutive weeks atop the chart, while it also remained inside the top 3, 5 and 10 for countless weeks selling more than 480,000 copies and being certified Diamond and 3× Platinum (equal to 8× Platinum). It stands as the 19th best-selling album of 2009, the 2nd best-selling album of 2010 and the 6th best-selling album of 2011, a supreme acoplishment due to its steady sales.
In other countries, it enjoyed mild success. In Spain, it peaked at #32 and remained inside the top 100 for 12 weeks. In Greece, it debuted at #6 on the international album chart thanks to the album's demand from Thalía's huge fan base. In Argentina, it debuted at #2 and was certified gold for 20,000 copied bought/shipped.
